Vox Apologia

We have the privilege of hosting Vox Apologia this week. Entrants wrote on the theme of the three governments which impose their rule on other men: the Family, the Civil Government, and Church Government.

Andrew from Weapons of Warfare introduces these three governments and shows their derivation from Scripture in his post, Three Governments, Three Orderings. He offers some original ideas on the relationships of these governments, and has prompted an interesting discussion you may want to weigh in on.

Lee, from Right Minded writes in The Separation of Jurisdictional Powers on the Scriptural separation of jurisdictional powers between the Church, the State, and the Family. While there can be minor overlapping of authority, final authority belongs distinctly and separately to the three forms of government. Understanding this principle is critical to understanding how all three forms of government are supposed to work.

When determining whether or not a government has the just authority to compel obedience in a certain area, we can look to the Scriptures to determine what responsibilities and authority Jesus Christ, the possessor of all authority has delegated.
